because mermaids come in all sizes...

Remember about a month ago when there was that Mermaids vs. Whales brouhaha going around the interwebs? I didn't want to get involved because I understood the author's point. I knew what she was getting at with her metaphors. I guess my main problem with it was that I don't recall reading or seeing anything that states all mermaids are skinny or have to be skinny to be a mermaid. Mermaids are sexy, sensual, beautiful fantasies, and last time I checked that didn't mean skinny. I've said too much...especially since I didn't want to say anything at all. I'm a curvy woman, totally Rubenesque and proud of it. See how I avoided saying plus size. I hate that category, simply because it's a category. But the world needs categories or where would we be? How would I find awesome party dresses for modern-day mermaids beyond a size 8? Well, this sparkly little number by ASOS CURVE is on my holiday wish list. I am so in love with it I can hardly breathe.
